I am an anesthesiology resident (MD) with a bachelor's degree in biology and a minor in chemistry. Before medical school, I attended nursing school and gained a LPN license after passing the licensure exam and also received an award for having the highest GPA in my graduating class. While in medical school, I successfully passed USMLE Step 1 and then scored 260+ on USMLE Step 2 CK. I was inducted into the AOA honor society in my senior year of medical school.

I have experience tutoring in anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology, with an approach that starts with basic probing questions to assess a knowledge baseline. Following this, I work to improve deficiencies by explaining things in simple terms, often utilizing a whiteboard to draw out illustrations as they arise. Lastly, I utilize the "teach-back" method to ensure successful understanding of the content, prior to moving forward.
For USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 CK, I have experience in helping many students build a study strategy that works for them and their situations. Whether it is 2 weeks or 6 weeks, I will do my best to ensure that all of the high-yield content is covered at least once, preferably twice. My teaching style here resembles that of clinical vignettes, with a question-and-answer format, followed by a debrief on why a certain answer is the correct answer.
The vast majority of my tutoring experience has been in 1-on-1 sessions, both in-person and virtual.
