Hello, I am Jack! I have been tutoring math for 7 years. My tutoring experience started at Kumon, where I helped students ages 5-15 understand various levels of math, ranging from elementary algebra to precalculus. After three years of tutoring at Kumon, I moved on to become a tutor at The Ohio State University for two years, helping college students reach their goals in their precalculus and calculus courses. Then, I worked in a teaching assistant role for a semester, where I led recitations for an OSU precalculus class. Now, I work as a freelance tutor and an actuarial analyst.

I am highly passionate about inspiring students to reach their goals in math and fostering a positive attitude towards learning. Over the years, tutoring has been such a fulfilling experience for me because when my students start gaining confidence and succeeding, I feel that I am making a positive impact. Additionally, I love tutoring because I feel that tutoring a wide range of subjects and people is helping me become a more well-rounded individual.

I specialize in teaching precalculus, calculus, ACT math, SAT math, and actuarial science. Throughout high school and college, I have taken rigorous honors precalculus and calculus courses. I also have multiple years of experience tutoring these subjects. In high school, I achieved near-perfect scores of 35 on the math portion of the ACT and 780 on the math portion of the SAT. Furthermore, I am a credentialed actuary (ACAS) and have passed seven exams. I would be happy to assist other aspiring actuaries in passing these exams. I graduated from OSU with a B.S. in Math and a 4.0 GPA.

I achieved a score of 35 on ACT Math in high school. For 7 years, I have tutored subjects ranging from elementary algebra to multivariable calculus, so I have expertise in all ACT math topics. Thus, I have a deep understanding of the types of questions asked in this portion of the test and am able to help students raise their score.

In high school, I passed the AP Statistics exam, an exam that featured probability as a major topic, with a score of 5 out of 5. Additionally, I passed Exam P (probability) with a score of 10 (6 is minimum passing score). This is a professional exam administered by the Society of Actuaries with a pass rate of about 50%. With these credentials, I am highly qualified to tutor probability.
