I have a Master's from the University of Phoenix. Growing up I had always wanted to be a teacher. After some unforeseen circumstances my career path changed. I spent 12 years in the medical field and decided to put those behind me and begin to once again fulfill my dream! For the past year I have been substitute teaching throughout many districts. I maintain long-term licenses in preschool-third grade, Language Arts 7-12, and Language Arts and Social Studies 4-9. I am also a tutor for a grant funded program throughout the school year for both K-4 and 8-12. I have also provided enrichment courses to those same age classes.
Substituting in elementary schools has allowed me to become familiar with the 'new math'. Also I have two young school aged children so I know how they get frustrated and shut down when they are confused!
Throughout my undergrad and graduate coursework I have written tons of papers. I am very clear on how things need to be written and sound, while being very familiar with citations. I was also a communications major, meaning the brunt of my coursework was speech related!
