I have taught young men and young women in grades 9-12 for some thirty years and enjoyed every day being able to work with teenagers. I mostly taught American History and World History but I also can teach Economics, Geography, Government, and Sociology. I have a Master of Arts degree in history. I love to get to know the student as a person as well as his/her being a learner. I have taught students of all races and religions and sexual orientation. I am familiar with the West Side of Cleveland as well as the East Side, having lived from time to time in both places.
In addition to teaching social studies I have also worked with volunteers at Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity where I was in charge of explaining the program to volunteers. I also worked with a school photographer and traveled from school to school for Picture Day.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
