Education and experience:
I hold a Master's in Genetics and Genomics from Duke University. My undergraduate degrees are in Molecular and Cellular Biology with a Chemistry minor (B.S.) and English Writing (B.A.). In college and graduate school, I tutored students in college writing; elementary reading, writing, math, and science; SAT and GRE prep; anatomy; and a variety of genetics courses. I have been a classroom teacher since 2015, in both traditional and advanced settings, including a couple of semesters online. Courses taught include general high school biology, AP Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, Molecular Genetics, and 8th grade science.

I have a Master's in Genetics & Genomics. My research career focused on chromosome biology with aspects of epigenetics (specifically, human centromere determination). After graduate school, I went into full-time classroom teaching over a decade ago. I have taught semester or intensive courses in molecular genetics and epigenetics; TA'd a human medical genetics course for M.D.s; and tutored college students in classical, molecular, and evolutionary/population genetics.
