I have a strong academic background and a passion for helping students grow in their confidence and skills. I earned my Political Science BA and Urban Planning MA from Clark University in Worcester, MA. I have focused much of my work on English, reading, writing, vocabulary, grammar, and history. These subjects have always been my strongest areas, and I enjoy breaking them down in ways that make learning approachable and enjoyable. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades, but also to help them develop lasting skills in reading comprehension, critical thinking, and written communication that will serve them well beyond the classroom.
I have several years of experience working with students in elementary, middle, and high school, both in one-on-one tutoring sessions and in small group settings. I have worked extensively with kids ranging from second grade to high school seniors. My tutoring style is adaptable—I meet students where they are, identify their strengths, and then tailor lessons to fit their individual needs. For example, I might use graphic organizers for a younger student struggling with reading comprehension, or practice essay outlines with a high school student preparing for an advanced writing assignment. I’ve also worked with students who need extra encouragement to stay motivated.
What I love most about tutoring is seeing a student’s mindset shift from “I can’t do this” to “I understand this now.” Every student learns differently, so I make it a point to use a mix of approaches—discussion-based learning, practice exercises, and real-world connections to the material. I believe patience, consistency, and encouragement are key to helping students succeed. Whether I’m guiding a younger student through the fundamentals of grammar or helping an older student strengthen their essay-writing and study habits, I am committed to creating a positive learning experience that empowers them to reach their goals.
