Hi, I'm Kelsey! I graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor's in Human Development and a minor in Gerontology and I'm a current medical student at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. I have multiple years of teaching experience as a TA for many science courses during college, both in large groups and 1-on-1 tutoring settings.

Having gone through the medical school application process myself as a first-generation student, I know how daunting it can be to navigate everything, which is why I'm passionate about helping other prospective medical students on this journey. I want to help students uncover the "why medicine" story within them and work with them to build a strong application through personal statement, primary application review, secondary application review, and interview preparation.

I also understand that challenges arise long before the application itself, and I want to make the entire pre-med journey more accessible by helping students figure out what are the best classes for them to take, how to get into a research lab and come up with a research question, how to organize extracurricular interests, how to get involved in volunteering, how to find a clinical experience that provides meaningful exposure to medicine, and when to do all of this with 1-on-1 personalized counseling.

I know from experience that every individual has a unique learning experience and I want to work together with my tutees to find the method that works best for them. Please reach out to me if you have any questions or want to schedule a meeting!

Career Development

As a first-generation medical student, I understand firsthand how difficult it can be to navigate the different components of the pre-med track and figure out how to be an excellent medical school applicant. My personal experience with these challenges has made me passionate about deciphering this process for future cohorts of pre-med students. I want to make the pre-med journey and the medical school application process more accessible by helping students figure out what are the best classes for them to take, how to get into a research lab and come up with a research question, how to organize extracurricular interests, how to get involved in volunteering, how to find a clinical experience that provides meaningful exposure to medicine, and when to do all of this.
Interview Prep

Interview Prep

I have a lot of experience with interviewing, both as an interviewer and interviewee. I received 10 interview invites during my first application cycle to medical school and received 4 acceptances to allopathic medical schools. I have also interviewed many individuals for multiple undergraduate organizations, including research labs. I also have experience with providing interview prep as part of these organizations.
Personal Statements

Personal Statements

I am a current medical student with substantial experience in writing and reviewing personal statements. As a first-generation student, I understand firsthand how difficult and confusing it can be to navigate the medical school application process, and that includes deciphering the personal statement. I have a lot of experience working as an English tutor, specializing in essay review. I also formerly worked with revising personal statements for undergraduate applications.
