I am a PhD Medical AI researcher with 7 years of experience developing medical AI models and 9 years of engineering/computer science training. I have multiple first author scientific papers, the most recent of which highlights the use of automated AI prostate cancer detection models in medical workflows. I have been able to successfully leverage this experience to guide 3 high school students and 5 undergraduate students in medical AI projects, all of which produced accepted abstracts and conference papers at internationally recognized conferences. Additionally, I have been a teaching assistant for graduate level coursework in medical data science focused on medical imaging. This has provided me we ample experience in explaining difficult concepts and working with students through coding projects. My teaching philosophy involves building gradual independence through increasingly complex, project focused assignments.
My degrees in Biomedical Engineering have also provided me with significant experience in mathematical and biological coursework, including but not limited to Calculus (1,2, and 3), physics (statics, dynamics), biological modeling, and more. This breath of knowledge puts me in a unique position to develop impactful skill sets in my students.
