Experienced Performer Tutoring General Music Needs!

Hello! My name is Tenyson and I am aspiring to be an instructor for some general music skills. I have 3 years of training as a teacher in a trade program from my school as well as 1 year experience teaching a Highschool level music theory class. My students were grades 8-12 and I have worked with kiddos in a elementary school setting for a few months as well. I am currently being trained as a Music Therapist with CSU and have been singing, playing, and performing now for about 12 years. I work as a singer for a cathedral in Downtown Cleveland and personally provide a constructivist approach with a large value placed in personal reflection and journey! My teaching experience has been personal as well as social. I have worked with students individually to assess different needs in their classroom environment and then worked with the same students on a group scale to practice these needs and make sure they are met.

I have been singing and performing for 12 years now, as stated previously. I now spend most of my time performing vocally, with my church and other choirs around the area, however I used to perform live and do shows playing percussion instruments with other musicians and doing tribute shows. I have experience in Vocal, Percussion, and Guitar technique professionally while I taught myself how to play the piano based on the knowledge I'd accrued. I have passed the WebXam and met Ohioan requirements to receive my certification in 2022 and have participated in national teaching conventions and even competed nationally in Educators Rising competitions, placing first back in 2020. I have a wealth of knowledge and a desire to share it with anyone I can!
