Hi, I'm Alex. I'm driven to help people use academics to boost their coping and problem-solving, and decent grades are a nice bonus!
I studied psychology and design at Northwestern before working in a lab and tutoring in California. I'm now back in Cincinnati with my Master of Education.

It's pretty normal to be overwhelmed by math, or avoid it, or hate it, and it's probably the scariest ACT test. I've been tutoring ACT math for years (and taken it as an adult) and have a great sense of the types of questions that are often included and the best way for different learners to find the answers easily and quickly.

Science is the oddest test of the ACT and is unlike most high school science classes. Still, it asks predictable questions, so we can use helpful strategies to interpret graphs and tables, eliminate options, and end up with the best choices.

Writing is a universal asset for all subjects. I have written academic articles, news articles, and educational materials professionally. Together we can organize ideas and blend form and function to craft intelligently written work.

Standardized tests like the Accuplacer are hard to study for independently, but different programs are using them for admissions more and more. We can learn effective test-taking strategies as well as identify and plug any holes in prior knowledge to get as prepared as possible.

I am new to Wyzant, but I have over five years of professional tutoring and teaching experience. I'm excited to work with you, share what I know, and learn from you too. Together we can cope with the academic pressure you're under and find the best ways to solve problems.
