ACT English

I have tutored many times in ACT and was also a certified English teacher.

Bible Studies

I majored in religion and took several course about the historical elements as well as spiritual elements of the bible. In college I was the head of the Christian Fellowship and lead worship as well as studies about passages in the bible.

Common Core

I have a masters degree in secondary education have taught classes before, have numerous hours of tutoring in various subjects required under Common Core and created numerous lesson plans that adhere to Common Core standards and implemented them in real-life settings.

Literature

I took several courses in literature based topics in college and in graduate school. I enjoy reading for fun and am able to discuss the importance of literature as well as details concerning a certain passage.

Public Speaking

I took public speaking and communication courses in college as well as grad school and have given many presentations and speeches before. I know how to organize a speech and ideas as well as discuss ways to ease of nervousness in speaking and how to make a speech fun and interesting. When teaching high school I mentored students who gave graduation speeches. I would read and edit their speeches and the help them become comfortable in their speeches. I’d have them watch themselves in a mirror as they spoke. We also worked on diction and annunciation and using arms as a way to take up space and facial motions.

Writing

As someone who focused on creative writing in college I was able to gain appreciation for several styles of writing as well as can discuss the importance of a certain style. I work in creative writing camps during the summer as well.
