Hello!

I am an experienced tutor for Biology, Animal Science, Ecology, and Zoology. I have taught in a wide range of settings including higher education, on-on-one tutoring, and informal science education in zoos and museums. I have over seven years of experience teaching biology at the undergraduate level. I completed my Master of Science (M.S.) at Michigan State University, studying animal behavior. While studying for my M.S., I taught in a wide variety of undergraduate biology courses. These included General Biology, Genetics, Anatomy, and Animal Behavior. I also taught a biology course for students in non-science majors. To improve my teaching skills, I also got my Certification in College Teaching.

I have always enjoyed learning and want to help others discover passions and grow in their skills and knowledge. One of my favorite aspects of teaching is helping facilitate those lightbulb moments where students understand the material and connect it with their own lives. Instead of giving them the answer, I aim to equip students with the tools so they feel confident to go out and find the answers themselves. I love helping students delve deeper into the many interesting topic areas in biology and discovering their passions.

When teaching, I adjust my teaching to my audience, meeting people where they are and presenting the material in a way they can understand. This can include varying how I present the material or the context in which I frame the material, such as connecting material to other subjects and students’ interests.

I love talking about biology and all things animals! From genetics to animal behavior to global ecology, I have worked in a wide variety of fields and love to explore how they all connect. I look forward to the opportunity to help you in a subject area I am so passionate about.
