I am a clarinetist from Cincinnati, OH where I received my Bachelor's of Music degree in Clarinet Performance from the University of Cincinnati's College-Conservatory of Music. While there, I studied with Ron Aufmann, Ixi Chen, and Chris Pell of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. Then, I went on to attend Lynn University's Conservatory in South Florida studying with Jon Manasse in pursuit of a Professional Performance Certificate (PPC).
I have had much experience playing in orchestras, wind ensembles, and chamber groups throughout the years, including during the summer months at music festivals such as the Brevard Music Center, Imani Winds Chamber Music Festival and Madeline Island Chamber Music Festival.
I love to share my knowledge through teaching! I have worked with high school students in a group setting, and I offer private lessons to students of all ages and all experience levels.
Whether you are new to the instrument or seeking to further refine your technique and musicality, you have a place here! Adult beginners highly encouraged as well.
My approach to the clarinet is fun and immersive, tailored to the needs of each individual. Whatever your goals, together we can meet them.
We will cover the foundations of good clarinet playing, focusing on building strong tone and technique, while utilizing method books and exercises at your level. We will then move on to etudes and repertoire, and any audition prep needs you may have. Additional topics include reed prep/maintenance, equipment, and general musicianship. Overall, our emphasis will be on discovering the joy in music-making!
