Hello, my name is Jacob M. I am a former UC student who graduated with a BS in Physics and in Astrophysics. I have a lot of experience with college-level physics courses and with college-level math courses.
I don't have much direct tutoring experience. I have tried to explain some complex homework problems to my coworkers though, and managed to get some of them to understand some of the questions a little bit. I was also a very helpful member of my physics study group. I'd make sure to walk through problems in such a way that everyone in my group understood what was fundamentally going on in order to be best prepared for each quiz or test.
My philosophy behind trying to explain problems or concepts is to never skip a step. Explain what is going on at every step and why each step happens. Having an understanding of the motivation behind the things you do to solve physics problems or math problems is incredibly important for learning and being able to solve problems on your own.
My only method of tutoring would be online tutoring.
