Bio

With over six years of tutoring experience, I specialize in helping 5th - 9th grade students build confidence and skills in math. I believe that motivation, when paired with clear instruction and consistent practice, is the key to success; and I work hard to inspire that in every student I tutor.

With over six years of tutoring experience, I specialize in helping 5th - 9th grade students build confidence and skills in math. I believe that motivation, when paired with clear instruction and consistent practice, is the key to success; and I work hard to inspire that in every student I tutor.

I’ve taught math to a wide range of learners; from children in underserved communities to top nuclear scientists at the U.S. Department of Energy. I even homeschooled my own son in grades 3 - 6; today, he is a university professor teaching statistics to pre-med and PhD students.

Whether your child needs help catching up, keeping up, or getting ahead, I tailor each session to their pace and learning style. I travel to you, whether that’s your home or a convenient public location like a library.

ACT Math

ACT Math

I have over five years experience in tutoring math. In 2019, I obtained a perfect score (36) on the Huntington Learning Center employment Math ACT exam. I also received perfect scores on the Wyzant certification elementary math, pre-algebra, Algebra I and ACT exams. I’ve tutored a sixth and eighth grader each trying to pass the Walnut Hills math exam. They both passed, with one improving her math score from a 69 to an 81. I also tutored a Catholic eighth grader trying to get a good score on the math parochial entrance exam, with math being her weakest subject. She got accepted onto the prestigious Ursula Academy and also was offered a $1,000 scholarship into Seton High School. When I was in the eighth grade, I scored in the top 0.1% in the nation on the math exam given to all students entering high school the next school year.
Algebra 1

Algebra 1

I just tutored Algebra 1 to a student his entire Freshman year at LaSalle High School. His math grades improved from D’s and F’s to virtually all A’s and B’s!
