Greetings! I am pharmacy doctorate graduate from the University of Kentucky with board certification as a pharmacotherapy specialist (BCPS). I have completed a scholarship of teaching and learning certificate from UK. I have 8 years of medical learner university teaching experience in and outside of the classroom: pharmacology, hematology, hyperlipidemia, research design, pediatric mental and behavioral health (PA exam blue print topics), and AHRQ Team STEPPS for medical teams. This includes success prep in pharmacy and PA certification exams. Previous to this, I have 2 decades of experience with pharmacy clinical experience working with medical students, nurses, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, dieticians and pharmacy students. As an Associate Professor, I have regularly tutored one-on-one and via Zoom. I also have interdisciplinary medical team experience working with health screenings, diabetes education, smoking cessation education, vaccinations, and free health clinic volunteer work.
I take a holistic approach to tutoring by addressing learning styles, self-quizzing techniques, utilization of technology for studying, self-care, study habits and making connections with other topics previously learned. Throughout my time teaching, I have developed a wide variety of review/self-quizzing materials using mind maps, original mnemonics/picmonics, worksheets, and certification-style questions.
Recent student feedback:
"Your ability to make complex concepts clear & understandable made all the difference in my learning experience...Your passion for the subject and for teaching was evident in every lecture, and it has left a lasting impact on me." LM ‘25
"It is clear that you care deeply about our success…The effort you put into teaching us & passion for the material was always evident through the detailed resources/study tools you always came up with. Your ability to turn complex topics into engaging and understandable material made you an indispensable part of my learning". HS ‘24

I am board-certified in pharmacotherapy and have experience teaching pharmacology for 8 years at the university medical-learner level. Engaging students with self-quizzing, technology, mnemonics, picmonics, application stories, pharmacology songs and applied activities is my expertise. I thoroughly enjoy and active learning environment and have been published in a peer-reviewed journal regarding my research of teaching in a flipped classroom setting for pharmacology.
