Hello! I am a resident physician who loves to teach, so I spend my free time tutoring subjects that I love! Hello! I am a resident physician who loves to teach, so I spend my free time tutoring subjects that I love! My favorite subjects to tutor are any subjects that involve math because the math problems are logical and can be fun! I do everything I can to aid in the understanding of material and application of concepts. I care about everyone I tutor. I am here to work personally with each student to find the methods that work for them and help them succeed. I am very interested in sports. I watch football, basketball, hockey, soccer, and baseball. I played soccer, volleyball, and pickleball for many years. I also play chess. I know everyone is capable of doing well at something if they try, so I am here to help people do well.
I have a BS in neuroscience and a BS in mathematics from the University of Kentucky, as well as an MD from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. I have 8 years of 1 on 1 tutoring experience in the following subjects: chemistry, precalculus, and physics. I mainly tutor at the high school - college level (and those associated ages).
I have tutored between 5-35 hours a week during this 8 year span. I have done most of my tutoring virtually, although I do have in person experience as well. Through this time, I have become an expert in employing research-backed teaching strategies such as finding the zone of proximal development, interleaving, spaced repetition, active recall, and teach-back. I aim to teach students the material but also how to become better learners so they can succeed in their courses and future.
