I am an experienced English tutor and published writer dedicated to helping high school and undergraduate students hone their writing skills. It is truly my passion to help make students better essay writers and critical thinkers. Writing skills I teach include: SAT/ACT verbal test prep, grammar, vocabulary, spelling, sentence construction, structure, research, fact-checking, clarity, and persuasiveness. Then, we can go deeper and explore topics like literary epochs, style, and principles of creative writing or journalism. My tutoring approach begins with identifying areas of challenge for the student, identifying goals together, then customizing a plan to achieve those goals.

I have had the great joy of tutoring for the last 10 years both in volunteer and paid capacities. I have experience with students ages 14-25 in one-on-one and group settings, in-person and online. Additionally, I was invited faculty at The Writer’s Hotel, a quasi-MFA program in Manhattan for aspiring fiction writers. Finally, I had the honor of being an invited guest lecturer at Bryn Mawr College.

My educational background includes a B.A. in English Literature with a specialization in 19th Century British fiction from Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec. I also completed a minor in Middle Eastern Studies at West Chester University of Pennsylvania.

Currently, I work professionally as a journalist in print and broadcast.

I can’t wait to work with you or your student :)
