My name is Jacob. I graduated from Ohio State University with a two bachelor's degrees (one in honors Mathematics and the other in Economics). I am attending New York University in the fall to study mathematics. I have multiple years of tutoring experience in nearly every undergraduate math subject, in every undergraduate economics subject offered at Ohio State through the economics learning center, and in test prep for the ACT, GRE, SAT, and HSPT.
As I am a graduate student in mathematics, I am very comfortable tutoring this subject below the PhD level. Moreover, I have taken PhD economics courses at Ohio State and have tutored in this subject for 2 years. Finally, I received a 36 on the ACT my junior year of High School, a 167 and 163 on the quantitative and verbal GRE sections respectively, and was a National Merit finalist in High School.
I am willing to teach any student. However, my style of teaching emphasizes practice problems and having the student attempt problems with guidance (less than half the lesson would be teaching theory and background and the rest would be applying these ideas).
