My method of teaching relies heavily on critiquing, finding not only the flaws of a story, but also pointing out and encouraging the good as well. I write primarily in the fantasy/science fiction genre, though through my courses at Hollins University, I became accustomed to working to help improve writers of many other genres. I encourage my fellow writers to push themselves. I believe we all have stories to tell and sometimes, to tell them best, we all need a little help.
