Hello Everyone,
My name is Kayla, and I hope I can be the ideal tutor for you!
I recently graduated TDDS with a CDL, but I have been drawing since age four. I sell my drawings to a family business, who uses them as notecards. I do all graphite work, with, on rare occasions, colored pencils.
I begin my tutor sessions by starting out with the basics; the type of paper you can use, all the different types of pencils, blending tools, etc. I then assign a simple quick drawing to find the level of skill of each different person- who needs what? I will then work with the individuals on what they need to work more on, such as shading, form, or overall drawing technique.
A lot of my drawing methods are unorthadox, as I have taught myself easier and better ways to do things. I love to share my techniques, and to watch someone grow in their personal satisfaction and abilities.
In general, I favor a 'hands on' approach to learning that involves a lot of interaction between teacher and student. However, my specific methods vary according to the learning style of the student.
I look forward to hearing from you!
