Hi! My name is Sean G. After graduating college in 2018, I taught high school chemistry (general chemistry and AP Chemistry) for one year before becoming a full-time tutor ever since then. I am also certified to teach high school physics. I recently also started creating AP exam prep social media content. I love to learn about and teach science and enjoy building relationships with and helping students.

I am very familiar with the AP Chemistry and AP Physics 1 curricula and exams and have a lot of experience tutoring students in these course and preparing them for the exams. I can provide you with structured tutoring/teaching/test prep or can just assist you with homework/questions that you have. Either way, however, I will make sure the main focus is on improving your understanding and skills. My goal is to develop your knowledge, understanding, skills, and habits so you can succeed independently, not for you to be reliant on me. My preference is to develop consistent, long-term partnerships with students of one lesson per week or so most weeks until the AP exam.

I believe a good fit between student and tutor is very important. I want this to be an enjoyable experience for both of us. I offer a free, up to 20-minute meeting prior to starting tutoring to allow you to ask me any questions and get a better feel if we would be a good fit.

I am certified to teach high school physics (although I have not actually formally taught it). Rather, I have taught high school chemistry, including AP Chemistry. Also, I have tutored numerous students in AP Physics 1 over the last six years.

Confidence in AP

My H.S. sophomore is in AP Math and AP Chemistry, so he didn’t think he needed help. Then Chem started kicking his butt and in 2 sessions I can see his confidence and enthusiasm coming back. We had tried another tutor, a undergrad, but they just couldn’t do enough at this level.
