I hold a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from The University of Toledo and have more than a decade of experience in biomedical research, teaching, mentoring, and scientific communication. My training spans undergraduate through postdoctoral research, with hands-on experience in molecular biology, virology, immunology, genetics, biochemistry, and experimental design. I have worked in academic medical centers and research universities, including Dartmouth’s Geisel School of Medicine and Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, where I currently serve as a Senior Scientific Editor supporting students, trainees, and faculty in research development, data interpretation, and scientific problem solving.
I have extensive teaching and tutoring experience with high school, undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral trainees in both formal and one-on-one settings. I previously served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, mentoring students in biology coursework and laboratory methods, and as a Graduate Research Assistant and Postdoctoral Fellow, where I regularly trained and supervised undergraduate and graduate students in experimental techniques, critical thinking, and scientific reasoning. My approach to tutoring emphasizes understanding core concepts, breaking down complex material into manageable pieces, and adapting explanations to each student’s learning style and academic level.
In addition to subject-matter tutoring in biology and life sciences, I support students with research methods, study skills, data interpretation, and scientific writing. Through my current and prior roles, I have helped students prepare for exams, develop research projects, understand primary literature, and build confidence in science-related coursework. I enjoy working with students who are building foundational skills as well as those preparing for advanced coursework or research experiences, and I aim to make science approachable, engaging, and understandable at any level.
