Bio

I hold a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from The University of Toledo and have more than a decade of experience in biomedical research, teaching, mentoring, and scientific communication. I hold a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from The University of Toledo and have more than a decade of experience in biomedical research, teaching, mentoring, and scientific communication. My training spans undergraduate through postdoctoral research, with hands-on experience in molecular biology, virology, immunology, genetics, biochemistry, and experimental design. I have worked in academic medical centers and research universities, including Dartmouth’s Geisel School of Medicine and Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, where I currently serve as a Senior Scientific Editor supporting students, trainees, and faculty in research development, data interpretation, and scientific problem solving.

I have extensive teaching and tutoring experience with high school, undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral trainees in both formal and one-on-one settings. I previously served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, mentoring students in biology coursework and laboratory methods, and as a Graduate Research Assistant and Postdoctoral Fellow, where I regularly trained and supervised undergraduate and graduate students in experimental techniques, critical thinking, and scientific reasoning. My approach to tutoring emphasizes understanding core concepts, breaking down complex material into manageable pieces, and adapting explanations to each student’s learning style and academic level.

Knowledgeable and helpful tutor

With every session I've had with Roberto, I see clear progress in my writing and in how I communicate my thesis proposal. I've worked with a few writing tutors before, but none of them helped me move forward the way Roberto has! I feel relieved because I don't always meet with my advisors, as I live on a different island. I'm currently doing my master's in Marine and Environmental Science, and Roberto understands the steps I need to take to complete my work and guides me through them with clarity. I feel extremely lucky to have found a tutor who has knowledge of tropical environments and understands the objectives of my research on sea turtle nesting density and light pollution.
