I hold an MFA in Interdisciplinary Arts with a self-designed concentration bridging Performance and Decolonial Studies. I began this work at Goddard College and completed it at Vermont State University–Johnson after Goddard's abrupt closure in 2024 — as VTSU's first Interdisciplinary Arts MFA graduate. For over two decades, I've taught in workshops, one-on-one, and occasionally in classrooms — as an undergraduate English tutor, a graduate Teaching Assistant, and as a workshop leader for universities, arts organizations, and community groups.
What makes me different: I've directed over two dozen plays and a handful of multi-cam video and film projects. That background means I don't just edit your essay or quiz you on interview questions — I coach delivery, too: how an idea lands on the page and how you carry yourself when you're defending it out loud. Students working on college essays, grad school applications, or job/internship interviews get both the writing help and the performance coaching in one session.
My approach: I won't just hand you better sentences. I'll ask the questions that get you to find them yourself — because the skills that make a strong essay (clarity, structure, knowing what to cut) are the same skills that make a strong interview answer (confidence, pacing, knowing what to leave out). Students leave sessions able to do this on their own, not just with one better draft.
I work with students on essay writing and development, interview prep, literature and close reading, and acting/theatre — from application essays to callback prep to just building the confidence to say what you actually think in a room with other people watching you.
