I hold a Master of Science in Geology from the University of Texas at Arlington and a Bachelor’s degree in Geology from Bowling Green State University. I currently hold a Multi-Age PK–12 Substitute Teaching License in Ohio, along with an Ohio Department of Education certification in Earth Sciences. My teaching experience spans middle and high school classrooms, where I serve as a substitute teacher in Wood County Local Schools, and I have also worked as a graduate teaching assistant at the university level.
My approach to tutoring is rooted in making science engaging and accessible. I integrate real-world examples from my career in geology—including work on oil and gas exploration and environmental site analysis—to help students see the relevance of what they’re learning. I’ve taught students ranging from middle school to college level, in both classroom and one-on-one settings, and I tailor my methods to meet the individual needs of each learner. Whether helping a high school student prepare for an Earth Science exam or guiding a college student through geological concepts, my goal is to build confidence and spark curiosity. My background in mentoring and training new professionals also supports my ability to explain complex concepts clearly and patiently.
