I chose to teach basic elementary education to help give my students a strong foundation in reading and basic math in grades 1-3 for my first assignment. I taught these basic subjects for 2 years. I then decided to take a position teaching American history with an emphasis on civics. It has always been my belief that all Americans need to understand our form of government as well as all the other forms so that we can truly appreciate what democracy means to us. It is important that our voters be educated consumers so they always understand and exercise their voting rights.
I am currently retired and would like the opportunity to work with individuals to help them learn their basic math and reading and to also reinforce their history and government lessons. In order for me to work as a tutor I became a Certified Professional life coach. I have been working with young adults for many years to mentor them so they can be successful once they are out in the working community. I would like the opportunity to teach again as I have been very successful in the past.
