Hi, I’m Carlo! With over 30 years of experience across engineering, environmental science, and data analysis, I bring a wealth of practical and academic knowledge to our sessions. I have earned a bachelor’s in electrical engineering, as well as master’s degrees in electrical engineering, Civil Engineering, and Business Administration (MBA), and a PhD in Civil Engineering. I’ve taught more than a dozen college courses in meteorology, climate change, hydrology, and remote sensing at Case Western Reserve University, Oberlin College, and John Carroll University, as well as a dozen academic advising courses at John Carroll University. Additionally, having spent the last 12 years in academic advising at John Carroll University, I specialize in working one-on-one with first-year students and young adults to help them navigate academic transitions. I have taught my courses and met with my advisees both online on Zoom and in person. Thus, I am prepared to use both formats for my tutoring work.
Given my education and work background, I specialize in tutoring in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Analysis, Earth Sciences, and Environmental Science. However, I can also teach Italian since I was born and raised in Italy and travel there often!
My primary goal as a tutor is to help you truly master your course material, build confidence, and excel in quizzes and exams. To do this, I tailor my approach directly to your specific syllabus and lecture notes and introduce supplemental resources to reinforce retention and problem-solving skills.
I am fully committed to your academic success and highly welcome collaboration, resources, or feedback from both students and parents. I am highly responsive and easy to reach. Please feel free to message me with any questions or to schedule your first lesson!
