I am currently studying Aerospace Systems Engineering at the University of Akron, where I have developed a strong foundation in mathematics and science. I previously worked as a Learning Assistant for Chemistry I, and am currently working as a personal tutor for Chemistry through the university.
As a Learning Assistant, I held two in-person sessions each week in a classroom setting, where I supported students with course concepts, homework, and exam preparation. In addition to these sessions, I regularly posted online announcements with supplemental videos and practice problems, focusing on topics that students found most challenging. I also met weekly with the course professor to review class performance and adjust our support strategy accordingly.
This experience allowed me to work with a diverse group of students, primarily at the college level, in both group and one-on-one contexts. I found the role extremely rewarding—especially when students from other Chemistry I sections began attending my sessions. One particularly meaningful moment was when a student who regularly attended my sessions shared that, due in large part to our work together, they earned an A on their exam.
Through these experiences, I have developed a patient, structured, and student-focused tutoring approach, aimed at building both understanding and confidence in challenging subjects.
