Reading and Writing Specialist

I am a teacher who is certified to teach Reading, Language Arts and Social Studies. I have been working as a substitute teacher for four years and have just finished a Long-term substitute at a charter school working with fourth and seventh graders who have special needs. I also had five field experiences at diverse schools during my program with Ashland University that have prepared me to teach these subjects and to work with many different types of students. I like tutoring and working one on one with students because I feel I can really get to know you and what your goals are and I can work with those specific goals. I have extensive experience with writing and reading because I have a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from Ohio State University as well as a Bachelor Plus teaching license from Ashland Univiersity in the subjects of Language Arts, Reading and Social Studies.

I worked with seventh graders and fourth graders who had IEP's with math goals in these subjects this year at Lorain Preparatory Academy.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from Ohio State University, wrote, copy edited, and took photographs for the newspaper. I also took many literature classes for my Bachelor Plus degree from Ashland University and those classes involved a lot of essay writing as well as reading many diverse texts. I had a cognate area with my degree at OSU in English so I took many English classes there as well.

I have children of my own and love to work with them on their homework throughout the year as well as the summer. I would love to work with you and help you achieve your goals in learning this year.
