Strong writing isn’t about sounding impressive – it’s about making the creativity and value of your ideas impossible to ignore.

Hi! I’m Elena, a student at Brown University, and I’ve helped people at all levels improve their writing for almost every type of reader, including K-12 educators, university professors, college admissions committees, employers, and national storytelling contests. I’m happy to assist with any paper, presentation, novel, or even just an idea that you’re working with. I also specialize in working with students on their college application essays, as someone who was accepted to Brown University, Amherst College, Johns Hopkins, Emory, Carnegie Mellon, and more.

In terms of my experience, I was professionally trained by the Sr. Associate Director of the Sheridan Center to strengthen students’ writing across 80+ disciplines. I work as a Writing Fellow at Brown and I’m a Developmental Editor for a philosophy journal, as well as an Associate for the Ivy Film Festival. I’ve also been a Senior Editor at the Brown Film Magazine, a board member of Production Workshop, and I’ve worked at the Brown Daily Herald. I’ve even worked with many writing professionals such as screenwriter Maria Maggenti and award-winning author Lanre Akinsiku.

I can tutor anyone in high school or beyond. I’ve worked with hundreds of people between the ages of 13-60 in many settings, from one-on-one to groups to synchronous to asynchronous. My tutoring style emphasizes back-and-forth communication rather than passive instruction, ensuring each student develops their ideas in an authentic and comfortable way.

I have always had an intense passion for all areas of the humanities: I’ve written thousands of essays, worked on the sets of live musicals, produced award-winning artworks, and performed in the national orchestra for the United States, all to create stories that will last a lifetime. I'm confident that I can provide you with the foundations for submitting work that your audience will fall in love with.

Elena is a truly dedicated and skilled tutor.

I've been working with Elena for a few months now, and I honestly can't imagine navigating the SAT and college essay process without her. She has been absolutely incredible in helping me improve my SAT scores and craft my personal statement, Common App, and supplemental essays. Her guidance is clear, patient, and tailored perfectly to my needs. She really knows how to bring out the best in her students. Beyond just tutoring, she provides structure, encouragement, and strategies that make a huge difference and help me write better instead of feeling very lost. Thanks to her, I feel confident, organized, and prepared for college applications, which I was freaking out over just a few months ago. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a tutor who genuinely cares and delivers results!
