Hello! I am Philip, a third-year at Brown University studying pure mathematics. I am always engaging with math inside and outside of the classroom, and I am grateful to have learned from many amazing educators throughout all parts of my academic journey. Although math can be a daunting subject, I believe it is very rewarding and exciting to learn, and I want to share my passion for math with others. My teaching philosophy is to ensure the student is engaged while also mastering the fundamentals. During a tutoring session, I will give enlightening examples and problems, and I will also show interesting and surprising applications of the content.

I have done one-on-one peer tutoring in high school for algebra and geometry. In university, I have done work as a teaching assistant for several college courses, where I held office hours to clarify what was taught in lectures and provide guidance on problem sets. If you are an advanced high school student or are in university, I can tutor undergraduate coursework, such as calculus and linear algebra. If you are looking to explore math outside of the standard curriculum, I can also help you prepare for math competitions. I can be flexible to cater to the student’s needs, whether it be doing supplemental work for a class, preparing for a test, or learning entirely new material.

Thank you for taking the time to read my introduction. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out!
