Hi, I'm Zelie! I am an honors undergraduate student at The Ohio State University currently working towards my Biochemistry BS degree. I graduated high school summa cum laude, top 5% of my class, and with a 4.4 GPA. I have received 5s in AP Chemistry, AP Precalculus, AP Calculus AB, AP Biology, AP Statistics, etc. and taken 14 AP exams. I was also tutor for 2 years while in high school, and worked both individually and in a classroom setting with high school students.

Hi, I'm Zelie! I am an honors undergraduate student at The Ohio State University currently working towards my Biochemistry BS degree. I have received 5s in AP Chemistry, AP Precalculus, AP Calculus AB, AP Biology, AP Statistics, etc. and taken 14 AP exams. I was also tutor for 2 years while in high school, and worked both individually and in a classroom setting with high school students.

My tutoring approaches include active recall, preparing example questions, providing flashcards and study tools, and diving further in depth behind the logic and reasoning of a principle. I am passionate to teach, and feel incredibly rewarded when my students receive their ideal academic results. I believe a strong foundation is the key to success, and will work diligently to help students reach a level of knowledge where they feel comfortable with their skills. I received a composite score of 33 on my ACT exam in September of 2024. Over the course of three exams, I improved my ACT English score from 34 to 35. My method of tutoring will primarily consist of reviewing test-taking skills tailored to the English section of the ACT, reviewing principles of grammar, and doing practice problems with the students, but I will do my best to meet the needs of every individual!

My personal preparation included practice workbooks, online video review, and independent study. Because of my experience, I understand the challenges students face when taking this exam, and know the skills and preparation required to gain success.

From freshman to sophomore year, I played JV tennis for my high school (freshman - first and second doubles; sophomore - first and second singles), and from junior to senior year, I played varsity tennis for my high school (junior - third singles; senior - second singles). In the summer of 2025, I privately coached a beginner elementary student, specifically focusing on hand-eye coordination, grip, and building the foundations of their swings (forehand, back hand, and volleys). I was also an assistant coach in summer tennis clinics.

Knowledgeable and patient Tutor

We had a great experience with this tutor. She helped my daughter with chemistry, specifically molarity, polarity, and solubility, and made these challenging topics much easier to understand. She is flexible, patient, and very friendly, which created a comfortable learning environment. Her teaching skills are excellent; she explains concepts clearly and makes sure my daughter fully understands before moving on. Thanks to her support, my daughter has gained confidence in the subject and has seen improvement in her exam performance.
