My love of art history started during a study abroad trip to England where I was fortunate to see works from the great Italian Master, Leonardo da Vinci. His drawings were exhibited at Christ Church College in Oxford. I graduated from my undergraduate university cum laude with a minor in Art History. When I became a graduate student, I was able to further my Art History knowledge and began teaching at the college level.
I have been teaching Art History for 3 years, with as many as 60 students each semester. I specialize in Italian Renaissance Art History but have experience teaching art appreciation and a student's introduction to art history, as well as experience teaching Ancient to Modern Art of the Western World. I also have some experience teaching Art History in the Non-Western World: mainly the Asian, African, and Indian Arts.
Each lesson I will provide key concepts and terms that the student must become familiar with to begin to think and talk about art and art history.
To ensure a student's comprehension of the material and satisfaction of the lessons, I will often ask for feedback and adjust my lessons and teaching methods as necessary.
I look forward to hearing from you!
