Hello there! My name is Christina H. To give you a little background on my professional life I have received Educational Background/Degrees and Certifications through a couple different Universities.

I have received my Bachelor of Science from Franciscan University of Steubenville with
licensures in Special Education of the Handicapped K-12, SLD K-12, Elementary Education 1-8 and a Concentration in Psychology. I received my Masters of Educational Administration Franciscan University of Steubenville. I then received my Transition to Work Endorsement at Kent State University. I have also had Autism training through the Rich Center at Youngstown State University. I have completed many Doctoral classes for PhD in Special Education Leadership through Capella University.

I have been teaching for 28 years. I taught in the Elementary setting for the first 7 years of my career and then transitioned to the High School environment. I currently work as a Transition to Work Coordinator at a Vocational School. I work with ages 16-22 years old. I am a very strong believer in developing the Transition part of the IEP to meet the students wants and needs. I believe the sooner an IEP team can have the transition into the real world conversation and start to lay the foundation of putting plans into motion the more successful our students will be. I believe that there are many facets of success in the adult world such as working on daily living skills, money skills, job skills, safety skills, hygiene skills and of course academics. I believe that everyone can learn and I am passionate about working with students and their families to help them succeed in life not just the classroom.

As I stated I have taught in the Elementary environment, the High School environment, the Vocational environment, on job sites, and within the Autism classrooms at YSU. I have also tutored one on one online for a Special Education Company. Online is the only format I engage in at this time.
