The best part of my day is always working with students on a one-to-one basis. Seeing the joy in their eyes when they finally grasp a concept is the ultimate reward that brought me to teaching in the first place. Working as a tutor would gives me that delight.
I motivate for learning. Many lesson come with visuals and demonstrations. In general, every effort will be made to motivate students by showing how chemistry is useful and how doing chemistry is good training for one’s brain.
I believe that learning chemistry means building on each concept, and that good teaching does not expect big conceptual jumps in a single day. It is easy as a teacher to overestimate how quickly students will learn what is so obvious and easy to the teacher, realizing only later that certain ideas take time to settle in students’ heads no matter how good a certain lesson is.
