I’m currently a NYC Department of Education paraprofessional working in ICT classrooms, where I support students of different learning styles and abilities every day. Being in inclusive classrooms has helped me learn how to build strong connections with students, make lessons easier to understand, and give one-on-one support when they need it most. I’ve worked with elementary-age students in reading, writing, and math, and I love helping them gain confidence by breaking skills into simple steps and celebrating their progress along the way.
I’m also in college majoring in psychology, which gives me a great foundation for understanding how children think, learn, and stay motivated. It’s helped me develop a patient, positive approach with students who may struggle or feel unsure of themselves. I plan to earn my master’s in ESL/ESOL, because I’m passionate about supporting multilingual learners and helping every student feel comfortable expressing themselves in English.
When I tutor, I create a warm and encouraging environment where students feel safe asking questions and trying their best. I focus on clear explanations, guided practice, and building the skills each child needs to feel proud of their work. My goal is not only to help students improve academically, but also to help them enjoy learning and believe in what they can achieve. I truly enjoy being part of a student’s growth, and I bring patience, kindness, and consistency to every session.
