I am a New York State certified mathematics teacher for grades 7 through 12 with extensive experience teaching and tutoring across a wide range of mathematical disciplines. In my current professional role, I teach seventh grade mathematics, focusing on building strong foundational skills in number sense, rational numbers, proportional reasoning, expressions, and equations. Over the course of my career, I have taught mathematics at multiple grade levels and am comfortable providing instruction from middle school math through advanced topics, including calculus.
I hold a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction as well as a master’s degree in Mathematics. In addition to my K–12 teaching experience, I have taught college-level mathematics, specifically precalculus, which has strengthened my ability to support students transitioning from high school math into more advanced coursework. My background allows me to clearly connect concepts across grade levels, helping students understand how foundational skills support higher-level mathematics rather than treating topics as isolated procedures.
My teaching and tutoring approach emphasizes conceptual understanding, structured problem-solving, and clear mathematical reasoning. I work with students in classroom, small-group, and one-on-one settings, supporting learners who may feel stuck, anxious, or behind as well as those seeking enrichment. During tutoring sessions, I assess individual needs, address misconceptions directly, and guide students toward independent thinking and confidence in their abilities. My goal is to help students develop lasting understanding, strong problem-solving habits, and the skills necessary for continued success in mathematics.
