I've been teaching English, reading, writing and training writing and reading tutors for over 15 years at college/university levels. I've been teaching English, reading, writing and training writing and reading tutors for over 15 years at college/university levels. One of the things I love is teaching grammar--helping you learn grammar experientially and not just as a set of rules. Grammar can actually be fun! So much so that I developed workshops for faculty and teachers to introduce them to new teaching methodologies. Along with grammar, I've got over 15 years experience teaching high school and college level writing--to both native and non-native English speakers. Writing is about getting your voice and ideas on paper in both logical and creative ways, and thus developing your thinking and reading skills in the process. It can be both an exploratory and analytical process that in which you gain more writing and speaking fluency as well as confidence as a speaker.
I've got over 18 years of teaching experience. I've not only taught in the U.S. but Russian, Kyrgyzstan, Myanmar, Europe, the Middle East and elsewhere. I've taught writing to a wide range of students--from high school to professional adults. I've not only directed writing and learning centers, I've trained the tutors who tutored through them. What I love is seeing individuals grow more expressive, more confident in their verbal and written capacities--because this means they can express more of who they are, what they know, and what they have to offer. Reading, writing and speaking in English--it doesn't have to hard and difficult. One can learn through so many interactive ways.
I've taught writing and English for native and non-native speakers for over 15 years both in the U.S. and abroad. Every class I taught was a combination of in-class work and private sessions. I have a Masters in Composition and Literature, graduate work in ESL instruction and have worked extensively with Russian, Arabic, and a variety of Asian and Chinese speakers. I've developed college level courses in teaching English as a Second Language, Composition, Advanced writing, and Grammar and Readin
