I am a certified Childhood Education teacher (Grades 1–6) with a Master of Science in Education. I currently serve as a Leave Replacement ICT Elementary Teacher, where I work in an Integrated Co-Teaching classroom supporting both general education students and students with IEPs. In this role, I collaborate daily with a special education co-teacher to design and implement engaging, standards-based lessons that are accessible to all learners while still meeting individual academic and behavioral needs.
Across my experience as a teacher, substitute teacher, student teacher, teaching assistant, and after-school group leader, I have worked with students in a wide range of learning environments—whole group instruction, small group support, and one-on-one interventions. These experiences have shaped my understanding that every child learns differently, and that effective teaching requires flexibility, patience, and a deep commitment to meeting students where they are.
When I tutor or support students academically, my approach is highly personalized and student-centered. I begin by getting to know each learner—not just their academic strengths and challenges, but also their learning style, confidence level, and motivation. From there, I design instruction that breaks down complex skills into manageable steps and uses strategies that make learning more accessible and engaging. This often includes differentiated instruction, visual supports, hands-on activities, guided practice, and educational technology such as Google Classroom, SMART Board tools, I-Ready, and Google Workspace.
I believe that learning should feel supportive and encouraging, not overwhelming. One of my priorities is building students’ confidence, because I have seen firsthand that when students begin to believe in their own abilities, their academic growth follows naturally. I strive to create a learning environment where students feel safe to ask questions, make mistakes, and grow at their own pace.
