About Robert

PUBLIC SPEAKING STUDENTS
Learn to capture and captivate your audience! If you are doing TED Talks, YouTube Videos, intra-office talks, classroom talks, conferences, seminar presentations, all of these require solid presentation and speaking skills. You will learn those skills here with one-on-one instruction and coaching. Learn how to develop killer openings, refine your organization, utilize point-example-point technique, the importance of full-room eye contact, why you need to adjust your rate of speech, how body language says as much if not more than what your mouth says, the right and WRONG way to use PowerPoint, and much, much more!

LAW SCHOOL STUDENTS
Master the three skills you absolutely need for success, but which law school will refuse to teach you! Those skills are 1) How to properly extract the "black letter law" from a case; 2) How to APPLY that law to a fact pattern; and 3) How to prepare for final exams from DAY ONE of classes. Do not wait until exam time...it will be much too late!!

DEBATE STUDENTS
Learn how to crush your opposition! Especially by using your opponent's arguments against them! If you are doing competition debate (Lincoln-Douglas, policy, etc.), media debates, coffee-table/arm-chair debates, all debate skills are taught here!

PHILOSOPHY STUDENTS
Please contact me at least two weeks before the assignment you need help on is due! For those of you struggling with philosophy, I will teach you the basics of academic and philosophical reading and philosophical reading comprehension. I will also show you how to analyze philosophical passages and develop your own original ideas.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Law

I am a trial attorney and have practiced for almost 10 years in civil litigation in New York City. I have a JD degree from New York University school of Law and have a lot of experience tutoring first year law students in case briefing, and exam analysis.

Philosophy

I have a BA degree in Philosophy and also studied under Ronald Dworkin, Thomas Nagel, and Liam Murphy while I was in law school at New York University. I've substitute taught for undergraduate philosophy classes and have extensive experience tutoring students in philosophy.

Religion

I have a B.A. degree in philosophy, however the course work for this major included many classes in religion including course work in Judaism, Christianity, Theology, the psychology of religion, introduction to religion, Old Testament, the philosophy of religion, etc. I am as proficient in religion I am in philosophy and have enough credits for a minor in religion, however I simply did not declare a minor while in school so it is not an official title. I also continue to study religions well after graduating college.
