I love playing and teaching the game of baseball. As I got older I began to really value the art and process of hitting and began to really develop as a player. I was the captain and starting centerfielder for the Fordham prep baseball team in 2017 and 2018, and was recruited to a few colleges but ended up at Williams College in the NESCAC where I started in right field for the team and won the western division of the conference for the first time in over a decade. I ultimately transferred to Colgate university where I played on the club baseball team. This past spring I was the head coach of the freshman baseball team at Fordham prep which was a great experience and got me into coaching on a regular basis. I specialize in hitting and outfield instruction while also working on the mental side to the game and aim to instill confidence in the kids I work with. I am located in Westchester county but am flexible and am able to drive to Rockland County, New York City, New Jersey, etc.
During a typical lesson with me, we would spend 30-45 minutes working on hitting, which typically starts off of the tee working on a few drills and plate locations to get loose and really dial in mechanics. then we would move into front toss or BP from a short length and then finally move into live batting practice. I like to think that less is more when looking at a players swing and will work on simplifying movements at the plate to create a contact friendly swing that produces results in a real game.
After hitting we would move into defensive instruction. I can hit fungos from a further distance either fly balls for outfielders or ground balls for infielders. I am also willing to help teach base-running and getting good leads and jumps as a baserunner of a lefty pitcher. I also would like to spend a few minutes at the end of each lesson talking about the mental side of the game and help any player prepare for the games they have coming up.
