To provide you with some brief information about my academic background, I graduated from SUNY Empire State College with a Bachelor of Arts in Human Development, concentrating in Psychology, and I hold a Master of Science in General Psychology from Mercy University.
Formerly, I had a tutoring business, “TSUW,” teaching remedial reading skills to elementary school students (grades 1-5). During these lessons, I used guided reading strategies and techniques to guide their attention to reading with patience and encouragement. I have five years of informal Teaching experience, including one experience as a Provisional Reading Teacher for grades 7-9.
Formally, I was an afterschool instructor, teaching Science, Art, Engineering, and Math activities in addition to assisting students with their homework for grades 2-5. The STEAM instruction took place in a classroom. I had the opportunity to develop lesson plans and had experience with classroom management with assistance from the classroom Teacher. In the most recent years, I’ve had experience working with students with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities in grades 4 and 7. My ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) instruction was conducted via telehealth, and a natural and organic approach was utilized for these instructions.
