Albert has been very helpful in teaching me the guitar. In just a few weeks I have learned to proficiently play 7 chords! I have also learned to strum one of my favorite songs. So much fun!
I like Al's approach to training. He wants the kids to be excited to learn, not teach them boring songs like Mary Had a Little Lamb. He is very enthusiastic about teaching and this passes onto the student. Well done.
Albert was a great teacher. My first lesson with him was very informative, I cant wait to go back! He went over music theory in great detail as well as went over chord progression with me. He's very patient and has a TON of knowledge to share! He is very talented and I can see myself learning a lot from him.
The best part is that he makes the lesson fun! I can see him being perfect for kids as well as adults. He has patience and knowledge for people of all ages. I am just a beginner player at 26 but hope to be better soon with Albert's expertise!
Truly a great find. 5 stars all the way!
Al is great. My seven year old son wanted to learn how to play guitar after watching school of rock. I read through a handful of bios and chose Al. From the beginning we were in constant communication, whether by email or by phone. We scheduled the lesson and he showed up early. He was polite, professional and patient with my son. After one lesson, he didn't want to put down the guitar. It was a mix of teaching and having fun that kept my son son focused on learning. Picking Al was a great choice.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have over 35 years playing guitar in multiple bands and in studying music composition and music theory with various teachers. I attended Mannes College of Music in NYC. I will provide the student a wealth of knowledge on music theory and music history, and as it pertains to a wide variety of musical styles and genres. I will provide the student ability to read musical notation, and develop pitch and rhythm skills
I will instruct the student on how to construct Guitar chords and how to play scales, chord progressions and lead soloing all along the guitar fretboard.
At Mannes College of Music I attended classes in Music Theory, Ear Training and Music Composition. I studied 2 years under the direct supervision of classical guitar virtuoso Anton Del Forno.
I have over 35 years of playing acoustic and electric guitar in over a dozen bands which brings much experience to the student who is trying to learn and who may never have played in a band. I have a library of guitar songs with chord structures and solos written out for the student to copy.
The wealth of knowledge I bring to the student is indispensible and would immediately help broaden the student's knowledge of music and how to play guitar.
