I hold degrees in Special Education, Literacy, and School Leadership. I am certified in Elementary Education (PreK–6), Special Education (K–12), and Literacy (5–12). Teaching and Tutoring Experience
I have been a special education teacher for over 20 years, working primarily with students in grades 7–12. My experience includes co-teaching, self-contained classrooms, resource room instruction, and individualized one-on-one support. I have taught across multiple content areas, including English, science, reading and literacy, writing, organizational skills, study skills, and test preparation.

I have significant experience preparing students for the New York State Regents exams in multiple subjects. I help students master content, understand exam formats, and develop effective study and test-taking strategies. I also regularly teach executive functioning skills such as planning, time management, prioritization, and note-taking.

My tutoring approach is student-centered, structured, and supportive. I break down complex material into manageable steps, use multisensory and scaffolded instruction, and tailor my strategies to each student’s individual learning needs. My goal is always to build confidence, independence, and long-term academic success.

Context and Student Background
Throughout my career, I have worked with middle and high school students in grades 7–12, including learners with IEPs, ADHD, autism, and language-based learning disabilities, as well as general education students seeking academic support. My experience includes classroom instruction, small-group teaching, and one-on-one tutoring in both formal and informal settings.

I am skilled at identifying student needs quickly, building strong rapport, and creating a supportive and encouraging learning environment.
