My name is Lauren! I graduated from Lafayette College with a B.A. in Psychology and Anthropology & Sociology. I graduated Summa Cum Laude with Honors in both departments. I am currently a Professional Tutor for SUNY Old Westbury. I have research experience and completed an honors thesis (4 years). In high school, I tutored AP Biology and Algebra (1.5 years). I have taken AP Psychology, AP Government and Politics, AP Biology, AP English Language & Composition, AP Capstone (AP Research & AP Seminar), and AP Statistics. As an undergraduate, I was a Writing Associate for History, Sociology, and Psychology courses (3 years). I was a Psychology Lab Assistant for an Introductory Psychology Lab (1 year). I was also a Teaching Assistant/ Instructor for High Schoolers for Forensic Psychology, Volunteering, and Oral Speaking classes (1 year). I have won scholarships for my future in teaching and oratory skills! I am an incoming PhD student.

I can mainly assist with Sociology & Psychology courses. But, I am also skilled in application writing for jobs, scholarships, graduate, and undergraduate admissions. Likewise, I can assist in general writing and reading for people of all ages. I have worked with children on their academics and social skills and tutored in elementary classrooms (8 years). And, I can sometimes assist with high school AP classes I have taken that are listed above.

My approach is to break down concepts and assignments to make them understandable and take a step-by-step approach. I enjoy helping students with symbols, examples, and acronyms to make information memorable! I am very dedicated to student success and will happily find resources to assist with our lessons.
