Hello, my name is Janine, and I’m currently a sophomore at Brown University, tentatively double concentrating in Business Economics and Philosophy. The humanities, especially English and literature, have always been close to my heart, which is why I’m excited to channel that passion into tutoring. At Brown, I’ve had the opportunity to work with kids through a club I was involved in, and I’ve also been the go-to editor for my friends and family—whether it’s editing college application essays or fine-tuning letters.

I’ve always had a natural disposition toward English. In high school, I earned 5s on both the AP English Language and AP English Literature exams, and I scored a 36 on the English section and a 34 on the Reading section of the ACT. Beyond test scores, I’ve always loved the simple joy of reading—you can usually find me with a book in hand, lost in another world. (This year alone, I’ve already read over 45 books!)

My gap year is giving me the perfect chance to deepen my understanding of the things I love while helping others grow in theirs. My approach to tutoring is collaborative and flexible—I want to work with you to create a personalized plan that fits your goals and helps you thrive. I’m extremely organized and always aim to make the most of the time we have together, but I also believe learning works best when it’s engaging and enjoyable. If you’re motivated, that’s even better—there’s nothing I love more than setting goals and working hard together to see results.

If you’re looking for a tutor who’s approachable, focused, and just as invested in your success as you are, I’d love to help! Feel free to send me a message—thank you for taking the time to read this, and I hope you have a lovely day!

Incredibly Helpful

Janine helped my daughter with her AP English Lit essay. She was quick to get back to us and was incredibly helpful with helping her structure her essay. My daughter found the hour long session very collaborative and was just the push she needed to finish her essay. Could not be happier with Janine's help.
