Hello! I am currently a third year medical student at a US allopathic medical school, with a strong background in biology through both my coursework and research experience. My interest in biology began early on when I attended a competitive magnet high school focused on science and healthcare education. This gave me an extensive foundation in biology, anatomy, physiology, and biomedical sciences prior to college.
During undergraduate studies, I was enrolled in a BS/DO program, where I completed advanced science coursework while preparing for medical school. I later applied out of the program and was accepted into an MD medical school after scoring in the 94th percentile on the MCAT. Throughout college and medical school, I have taken advanced courses including genetics, cell biology, physiology, microbiology, biochemistry, and anatomy/physiology. My medical education has also given me extensive experience applying biology concepts clinically and explaining complex topics in a clear and understandable way.
In college, I also tutored peers in science coursework by hosting weekly review sessions and helping students work through difficult biology concepts in a collaborative and approachable environment. This experience strengthened both my teaching and communication skills and helped me learn how to adapt explanations to different learning styles.
I also have experience mentoring and teaching younger students through research mentorship programs and student organizations. I enjoy helping students build confidence in biology by focusing on understanding concepts rather than memorization alone. I am comfortable tutoring biology at multiple levels, including middle school, high school, introductory college biology, and pre-medical coursework.
