Tutoring has always been a passion of mine. I am currently a fourth-year medical student at New York Medical College and graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology/Neuroscience. Before medical school, I worked as a researcher at George Washington University Children's Hospital in a pediatric cancer laboratory studying tumor development in the brain. I consider myself a life-long learner.

I have been tutoring multiple subjects for 6 years. I have tutored six elementary school students in reading, math, vocabulary, writing, and science. This included making timing schedules to keep students on track for upcoming assignments. I have also tutored four high school students in algebra, physics, biology, and chemistry. In addition to subject tutoring, I helped three students prepare for the ACT examination. It was amazing to see them meet their goals. I also have experience teaching two undergraduates in general chemistry, biology, biochemistry, and psychology. This included MCAT prep. Lastly, I have taught adult learners who pursued undergraduate curriculums later in life. My experience teaching multiple age-groups has refined my ability to tailor tutoring sessions to individuals' specific needs. I believe that one-on-one teaching can accelerate a student's progress by helping them improve in the areas where they need it most and by building confidence in the areas that they excel at.

Insightful and encouraging tutor!

Lauren was an amazing tutor! She was incredibly patient and took the time to really understand what I was trying to say. She helped me organize my thoughts and guided me in expressing my ideas clearly and effectively. I never felt rushed or judged, and her calm, supportive approach made a huge difference. I left each session feeling more confident in my writing. Highly recommend!

bad experience

Lauren refused to do the first session after several requests, but only because I requested an urgent session. She seems to be being unreasonable, and she also fined me for missing my first lesson, which was supposed to be a free one.
