With over 10 years of teaching experience, I bring a very straight forward approach to studying history. Using linear concepts, I show how events combine to create other events. Hence, I use a very thematic approach that easily adapts to specific historical situations. I have taught all survey history classes. I begin with World and Western civilization with the Neolithic period around 10,000 years ago and go up to the post-modern era of today. I specialize in American History with a a focus on the post Reconstruction period to the present. In addition, I have a specialization in Modern World History 1492 to 1914. I also offer classes in the post World War I period up to the present. In addition, I have an aptitude to teach Modern Asian and Latin American themes. My approach is to help students develop higher learning skills that can be used in their other subjects as well as obtaining a better understanding of history and the elements that surround it.

I do offer good studying techniques and methods that provide students ways to understand not just the What but also the Why, Who, and How. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
