Business

Business

For the last 20 years, I’ve been dual career in Engineering and Business. The Engineering side with BS & MS in Computer Science and a PhD in Technology Management have lead to chronological careers as Software Engineer, Business Analyst, Systems Engineer, and Project Manager. The business side initially began as the account manager and marketing manager for an extended family member’s home improvement company handling all the billing, advertising, marketing, and bookkeeping, and chronologically morphed into Property Manager, Real Estate Salesperson, an MBA, and earning several certification in Project Management. I’m also familiar with several business software and can help you in most things business!
Computer Science

Computer Science

I earned my BS in Computer Science learning languages like C++, Java, Pascal, etc. I went on to my Masters in Computer Science working in Aerospace and the collar companies that worked for government. I then earned my PhD in Technology Management which required lots of computer science skills. I enjoy tutoring various programming languages, Systems Engineering, Project Management, etc. I’ve also taught all levels of students from elementary education through advanced graduate courses.
Marketing

Marketing

For the last 20 years, I’ve been dual career in Engineering and Business. The business side initially began as the account manager and marketing manager for an extended family member’s home improvement company handling all the billing, advertising, marketing, and bookkeeping. A few years later in 2001, I began the property management of several investment properties owned by extended family members and friends. During this time, I learned that a thorough comparable marketing analysis (CMA) to inform proper pricing could decrease the promotion time for an empty property. This ignited a fire to earn my Masters in Business Administration (MBA), after which I acquired my Real Estate Salesperson license, and immediately began using. I learned that while I was very acclimated to marketing properties to people-specifically prospective Tenants-from the property management side, it was just as important to use my marketing skills to sell my services to home owners to become the listing Agent for the successful sale of the product, their property. Twenty years later, I continue to fuse and utilize my academic-based and experience-based business skills to enhance my dual career practice and have also incorporated all the project management certifications I’ve earned in the last decade. I’m also familiar with several marketing software!

In addition to using Access at work, I used it as one of the tools to analyze the coding on my Qualitative data in my PhD Dissertation and can use SQL very well. I can also map the tables and answer any question with the data.

I use excess in my profession and in my daily life. My family jokes that "Kerry has to check her spreadsheet for everything" and "Kerry can and will make a spreadsheet for anything"
Microsoft Outlook

Microsoft Outlook

I've earned a BS in Computer Science and MS in Computer Science which both sharpened my skills in Microsoft Outlook. In addition to using Outlook at work, I used it as one of the tools to communicate with my PhD Dissertation committee and have learned lots of valuable tricks and tips. I’ve also taught Introduction to computing at the community college levels which includes Word, Excel, Project and Outlook, to make a few.
Microsoft Project
